Initial situation
MOCA, a local Spanish startup, has developed a proximity marketing platform that processes a continuous flow of data from mobile users in real-time. The solution allows segmenting clients based on their interests, geo-localization and behavior, and use this information to develop improved and targeted campaigns. Moca has no brand awareness as it has not done any marketing or pr campaigns since its incorporation. Thanks to an investment round, Moca decides to dedicate budget to PR.
Communication goals:
- Gain recognition of MOCA as a key player in the marketing and events segments
- Position MOCA as a leading innovator, and MOCA Platform as the best solution and ideal partner for marketing & events
- Build thought leadership around the company’s spokesperson – Maria Fernanda Gonzalez (CEO & founder)
Strategy
Creating all the necessary PR materials to create an awareness strategy through PR, focusing on leveraging all possible speaking opportunities in technical gatherings, economics forums, and community talks.
Results:
MOCA, a name unknown by the media, quickly became a regular source of information when speaking about proximity marketing and growing innovative local startups.
More than 120 clippings were achieved in Spanish media in 6 months with an OTS of more than 120 millions. The culmination was the GLOMO Award received during the Mobile World Congress 2016 as the Best Mobile Cloud Service.
